Half way there…

The plane for the first leg was quiet so we got four seats to ourselves. Of course in reality, I got three seats and John got one, and I slept the whole flight – yay! :)

Currently cooling our heels just passing through Doha International Airport, Qatar. A replacement is currently being built, and you can see why – it is pretty small for one of the major hubs in the Middle East, although thankfully not too busy at this time of the morning.

Now that I am officially a social leper I got to enjoy the pleasures of the “smoking room”. On the plus side, one could save money of cigarettes; the fans were not working properly so all you had to do was breathe in and get a pretty good fix! Hmm, must be time for another snooze…

We’re currently crawling along on the M25, being driven by Erica Bagg (with her boyfriend Sam along for the ride), towards Heathrow. Now that I am definitely on my way I no longer feel quite so scared / excited, but instead a Zen-like calm has descended. Probably best that I avoid thinking about the whole jumping out of a plane at 29,000 feet with a massive 7 seconds of zero-g freefall before I reach the high-altitude terminal velocity of 200mph, hurtling towards the mountain side….
